I told my cutie sis in one of our chats about my trip to Thai Market, an Asian food shop here in Pori, to look for veggies which I can’t find in the supermarkets. Our carte du jour here have been limited to veggies such as potato, carrot, broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower. Sometimes it becomes dull. Say, how about spicing it up with a Thai dish for another variety of menu.

My sis is fortunate to be staying in the capital city, Prague, so finding Asian goods is not difficult. Over there she has more choices from different stores coz there are many Asians specifically Vietnamese. My friend in Canada also told me there’s a big Asian shop in Vancouver were she can go shopping for Asian food products. For us here staying farther from the capital and in a city where there are less Asians, we are still lucky enough to have a small Asian store around. Stocks are not frequent though. Like I’ve been checking the store for green mung beans and it’s more than 2 weeks already, still they don’t have it in stock. In spite of everything, having this shop is better than nothing.

But today they have new stock of fresh veggies coz it’s Wednesday. Their fresh supplies arrived at 4:30pm so I have to wait at an arts and crafts store beside Thai Market before I can start scouring the store for Asian foodstuff. Eventually this week we can enjoy a bit of Filipino dish and the spicy Thai dish ‘namtok moo’. Our older son R-vin asked me to buy more Laab–Namtok seasoning mix. He likes to have this spicy food every time he eats.

Whenever we long for Filipino or Thai food, there’s always the Thai Market to shop for pancit canton, lumpia wrapper (which is made in Thailand), bagoong, mung beans (for monggos), sinigang mix, tomyum mix, laab-namtok seasoning mix, veggies… and they have condensed milk too for a yummier taste of chocolate cake.
